Praying?

Size: 61cm × 76.2cm
Price: NOT FOR SALE
Within the Chinese culture, we needed to pray everyday to respect the Gods, protect our loved ones and keep bad spirit out of our houses. It's not like I don't like to pray or don't respect it, but after doing this for more than a decade, I started losing the motivation to pray, like I was ignoring the routine of praying.
Late Meal Prepping

Fruits for the Occasion

Size: 60.96 cm x 91.44 cm
Price: RM 2500
This painting features dragon fruit, bananas, and oranges—fruits that are deeply symbolic in my personal and cultural experience. In my family, these fruits are commonly offered when visiting relatives and neighbors, particularly during times of illness or special occasions. They serve as gestures of goodwill, comfort, and sincere intentions—embodying the age-old saying, “a small gift carries great meaning.” Through this piece, I aim to highlight a meaningful aspect of everyday life—the act of giving, a quiet homage to the practice of maintaining relationships through simple, thoughtful exchanges—a reminder that kindness often bears fruit.

Adulting Sucks

Size: 42.5 cm x 42.5 cm
Price: RM 800
As a city girl, I have always had a yearning desire for the nature. I choose the seashells that I collected as the subject matter, and I give them a pair of legs. They symbolize my inner child. The adult life makes me reminisce about the carefree days and the good times I had with my family and friends. Doing art allows me to daydream and immerse myself in my imagination – a short escape from the hectic working life.

Scaffolded Symphonies

Size: 91.5 cm x 152 cm
Price: RM 4000
This painting feels like the city’s noise turned into structure. Layers of scaffolding lines overlap like different voices, sometimes clashing, sometimes moving in sync. The mix of reds, yellows, and greens reminds me of the chaos of construction zones, where everything is happening at once but still follows an invisible rhythm. I was thinking about how cities grow, not in silence, but with constant tension and energy. Scaffolded Symphonies is about that overwhelming sound of progress, where even stillness feels temporary, and every space feels like it’s waiting for the next change.
Weight of Lightness

Size: 122 cm x 91.5 cm
Price: RM 3200
This work reflects the quiet pressure that builds up in city life. Bamboo scaffolding may seem light and temporary, but when stacked layer after layer, it starts to feel unbearably heavy, like the weight of the whole city pressing down. The muted browns and earth tones remind me of exhaustion, routine, and the dust that fills the air during constant construction. Flashes of yellow and red cut through the space, like warning signals or moments where stress and frustration break through the surface. Weight of Lightness is about carrying invisible struggles, about holding yourself up when everything around you feels like it’s closing in.

The artwork captures a tranquil street scene through a child’s perspective, where traditional elements are subtly interwoven. Bubble of Youth

Size: 50 cm x 70 cm
Price: RM 1200
This painting features a dreamlike arrangement of Nanyang-style windows, inspired by the architecture of Penang. The windows are arranged in a bubble-like shape, with the houses changing their forms to fit the curves of the bubble. This playful composition captures the feeling of childhood wonder, as if viewing the world through a child’s imagination. The bubble represents the delicate and fleeting nature of childhood memories—light, beautiful, and ever-changing. The Nanyang windows, deeply rooted in Penang’s rich cultural heritage, serve as a symbol of nostalgia and personal growth, reflecting the artist’s experience of growing up in Malaysia’s multicultural environment.
