TRX: The Most Connected District in KL
March 31, 2023

Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) is Kuala Lumpur’s dedicated International Financial District with the best business address in Malaysia. Seamless connectivity is one of the core principles in shaping TRX’s vision to be Malaysia’s international financial hub.

For it to realise its vision to be the new nexus in KL, TRX must be the most accessible district in Greater Kuala Lumpur. The business district is highly accessible by rail, road, and foot, making it the best-connected district in KL. A World-class infrastructure has been put in place to realise this vision, including the upgrading of existing roads and construction of new ones, as well as creating new pedestrian pathways heading into and out of the district.

Access via Public Transport

KL’s Golden Triangle has yet to reach its full potential as one integrated business district. Therefore, the enhanced connectivity brought by TRX, and its expansive public realm is enhancing its value as one cohesive and connected district.

TRX is connected to the largest and only interchange MRT station in the city centre. The new TRX MRT station hosts the Sungai Buloh-Kajang and Sungai Buloh–Serdang–Putrajaya MRT lines, allowing travellers to reach TRX within 45 minutes from any lines, making TRX an important transit-oriented development in KL.

Furthermore, this accessibility via public transportation is supported by new pedestrian pathways from Jalan Barat, Jalan Utara and Jalan Gading with enhanced access and more pedestrian-friendly facilities that are not only greener, but safer s. TRX works closely with DBKL for these improvements which also provide direct pedestrian link to Bukit Bintang and TRX MRT interchange station.On-site bus and taxi stops as well as the nearby Bukit Bintang Monorail station, which is situated within walking distance from TRX, are also contributing to the public access to the district.

Access via Major Vehicular Highways and Roads

TRX has direct connections to KL major highways and arterial roads. The array of on-site roads provides access from all directions, including the Maju Expressway (MEX), SMART Tunnel and Jalan Sultan Ismail from the southern tip, Jalan Tun Razak from the north, and the city center from the north-west. Highways such as MEX, SMART and the upcoming Setiawangsa Pantai Expressway, link TRX to 12 other highways around Klang Valley.

Together with DBKL, roads around the area are upgraded, to improve the traffic flow in the city centre and allow direct access into the district. including the widening of Jalan Tun Razak under the traffic dispersal project.

Within TRX, a network of loop tunnels underground move vehicles quickly and efficiently to and from the district, reducing the amount of traffic congestion above ground. The tunnel system allows the movement of vehicles within TRX to bypass the inner-city roads and will divert the traffic underground.

TRX has also partnered Waze to leverage Bluetooth connectivity underground and provide seamless navigation to drivers when there is limited GPS signal reception in the tunnels via Waze Beacons. This will help ensure better real-time location services, increased driver safety, and better visibility of traffic events while driving underground in TRX. This is the first of its kind programme in South-East Asia.

Connected in Every Way

The implementation of the connectivity strategies is transforming TRX into the envisioned world-class development. The well-planned integration and accessibility to the wider KL city has become the new benchmark for future developments. With great location, world-standard facilities and cohesive access from all points, TRX is primed to become Malaysia’s premier international financial district with a dynamic and sustainable ecosystem for business and living. As an international financial hub, TRX is poised to be the new catalyst for KL’s future growth chapter with its complete ecosystem as a social and lifestyle destination, hotels, residences, a retail hub and a cultural centre.
