Apart from being a world class business hub, TRX will be home to The Exchange, a shopping mall impressive enough to rival Suria KLCC and Pavillion Bukit Bintang. It will be a place where work meets leisure, with over 500 shops including leading retailers, a premier department store, fashion outlets, restaurants and cafes, and a cinema - within an area of over 2 million square feet.
The Exchange is a mall-in-a-park that is seamlessly integrated with nature and green space. Visitors can access the park that offers area for dining, events and also children’s play facilities in-between shopping. It is being jointly developed with Lendlease, a leading property establishment that has been constructing shopping centres across the world for the past 40 years. Lendlease, has in its long list of projects among others, the Bluewater in the UK, Baranggaroo South in Australia and 313@Somerset in Singapore.
When world-class infrastructure is coupled with seamless connectivity, the potential of developing KL’s No 1 retail hub comes easy. The Exchange is located in the middle of KL’s shopping district, with plans of a La Ramblas-inspired boulevard that connects it to the Golden Triangle that will expand the existing Bukit Bintang Shopping Belt.
While shoppers have access through the central urban park, leading directly from the underground interchange MRT station, business folks in TRX will be able to walk over to the mall for lunch overlooking the urban park, or spend the Friday night out at the al-fresco food outlet after office hours. Both residence and visitors of TRX will have green shaded walkway throughout the district to access The Exchange for something as simple as groceries, or as classy as designer handbags.
The Exchange will be built with sustainability features like sustainability training for the retailers on top of the recent Neighborhood Development (LEED ND) Gold Pre-Certified Plan and Green Building Index (GBI) Township Provisional Platinum certifications that entire the TRX project has received.
