COKL Episode 18 this time features street artist, Akid One, whose work has adorned walls up and down the country, as well as internationally in Australia, Dubai and Indonesia.
Known for realistic portraits and pops of colour, Akid has started to experiment with a more sketchy style. Most recently, he pushed himself even further by creating a large 3-wall mural with emulsion paint, rather than spray paint.
The playful results can be seen in the Nagasari area, through a community project sponsored by TRX, DBKL and Jotun Malaysia, supported by neighbourhood businesses such as Halab Restaurant and Mesui Hotel.
Conceptualised as coming from a child's imagination, the colourful mural features two children on a floating island, alongside a windmill-flower, a flying turtle carrying a house-boat on its back as well as lush greenery, fishes and patterns rendered in a crayon effect.
At the furthest end, the mural links up with TRX's real-life Exchange 106 skyscraper, creating the perfect illusion for an Instagrammable photo.
