Transit-centric hub

Allowing direct access to and from major highways like SMART and MEX, TRX's loop tunnel will divert the traffic underground, straight to the parking bays.

Tun Razak Exchange is planned as an integrated financial district with excellent inter and intra urban connectivity as one of its main features. While TRX’s integration with two MRT lines and its proximity to the existing monorail line underlines the development’s transit-centric approach, a comprehensive plan has also been put in place to ensure smooth traffic flow in, out and around the area in the future.

Slated for completion in 2018, the project includes the construction of a direct elevated access to the Bukit Bintang shopping district, allowing traffic to bypass the busy eastern stretch of Jalan Bukit Bintang.

A direct elevated access to MEX Highway, which connects KL with its southern suburbs and KLIA, will also be constructed from the Langgak Golf end of the Jalan Tun Razak, providing much-needed relief to the Kampung Pandan Roundabout.

The loop tunnel system planned for the movement of vehicles in TRX will enable traffic to bypass inner city roads altogether.

Allowing direct access to and from major highways like SMART and MEX, the loop tunnel will divert the traffic underground, straight to TRX’s more than 20,000 parking bays.

The seamless access to MEX that bypasses the heavy above-ground traffic in KL will allow travel time from KLIA, one of the world’s top 25 busiest airports, to TRX to be shortened to 40 minutes only; a vital feature that will ensure the development’s viability as a truly global financial hub.

The direct egress and ingress access to the SMART tunnel will also relieve the congestion along Jalan Sungai Besi; enhancing TRX’s traffic connectivity with the future Bandar Malaysia development.

TRX is also working with DBKL to upgrade Jalan Tun Razak, which serves as the main southern gateway to downtown Kuala Lumpur. Known for its rush hour gridlock, the upgrade currently in the works is aimed at reducing the traffic loading in the city by 30 percent.
