Visualising KL’s Sustainable Future: TRX Art Contest
November 6, 2017

TRX City, in collaboration with Department of Environment Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur (DOE WPKL) Malaysia, is reaffirming its commitment towards building a sustainable future in Kuala Lumpur by launching the inaugural TRX Art Contest.

TRX Art Contest provides a platform for young Malaysians to express their vision for Kuala Lumpur’s sustainable future through creative visual arts.

Themed “Sustainable Kuala Lumpur”, the art contest, open to all Malaysian tertiary students of 16 years of age or older, seeks to explore the ideals of urban sustainability from the perspective of young Malaysians and how they can be reflected in Kuala Lumpur’s future developments.

Dato’ Azmar Talib, CEO of TRX City Sdn Bhd said, “Sustainability is at the very core of our business. As we build a greener future for Kuala Lumpur through the development of sustainable infrastructure at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), we are also aware of the importance in cultivating a sustainability-centric mindset amongst Malaysians. Through TRX Art Contest, we will also learn more about the environmental aspiration of Malaysian youth, which will help us realise our development, moving forward. I am very excited to see the manifestation of our youth’s idealism and creative energy through this contest.”

TRX City is also pleased to partner with DOE WPKL to enhance Malaysian youth’s awareness on the importance of sustainable urban development through this creative and highly visual platform. As KL’s green-certified international financial district takes shape, we look forward to an era of even more meaningful collaborations with TRX City to provide real impact to the youth of Malaysia via sustainability-centric community engagement efforts”

As Kuala Lumpur’s future CBD, TRX will strengthen Kuala Lumpur’s position as a leading centre for international finance and business by creating a seamless and central business environment for financial services firms, multinational companies (MNCs) and other businesses and services that support TRX’s ecosystem as an international financial district.

In line with the aspiration to become a sustainable development, TRX has been awarded with Malaysia’s first ever provisional neighbourhood-level GBI Township Platinum certification. The financial district’s masterplan combines sustainability, attractive public domains and great connectivity to create a world-class international financial district.

TRX City has also elected Veolia Water Technologies, a world-class pioneer in water management to deliver sustainable water and waste management in the entire financial district, putting TRX at the forefront of sustainable resource use in the region.
