As Jalan Imbi turns towards Jalan Bukit Bintang, you enter the Bukit Bintang CBD and shopping belt bustling with tourists and shoppers. Tapping into the multinational market, you can find food from all over the globe that suits every taste and craving. Here are this month’s fares of makan places around the CBD.


 

Food place: Little Rara Thai Noodle House, Menara HLA, 3, Jalan Kia Peng.

Food type: Thai street food

Food order list: Jumbo beef speed boat noodle soup (RM7.50), tomyam bann khai noodle soup (RM8), seafood tomyam noodle soup (RM11), seafood pad kra praw - rice with basil and egg (RM10), grilled beef (RM12), Thai ice tea (RM3).

Food note: This popular alfresco food stall is located behind Paramount Club. With simple setup of colourful wooden chairs and tables, Little Rara serves up lip-smacking menu with bold flavours. Come early as there is always a beeline waiting.


 

Food place: Tai Zi Heen Cantonese Restaurant, Pullman KLCC Hotel & Residences, Jalan Conlay.

Food type: Cantonese, halal dim sum buffet

Food order list: Buffet spread includes golden pumpkin balls, sweet-sour crabmeat/prawn wontons, crispy shrimp kataifi, barbecued parmesan chicken puffs, mango and tuna rice paper rolls, shrimp wasabi dumplings and pearl grouper rolls in lobster broth.

Food note: Extensive range of delicious morsels (sets of 2 to 3) made to order. Therefore, every dish comes out hot and fresh. Don’t forget to try the spicy shrimp and chicken Nyonya dumplings!

Food note: This fashionable black-and-white cafe is KL’s first outlet from Thailand’s Greyhound franchise. Try the Complicated Noodles (RM18) and assemble your own bowl with lettuce, chicken meat, soft noodle sheets, chilli sauce and coriander. Clever and tasteful décor as well as the really good service.
