At TRX, we are conscious of the impact of our operations on the environment, our employees and the communities we serve.
At TRX City Sdn Bhd, we are deeply committed to sustainable growth and responsible urban development. As the world rapidly evolves, so too must the way we live, work, and interact with our environment. The increasing frequency of extreme weather events globally, including in our region, highlights the urgent need for sustainability in urban development and infrastructure.
As Malaysia's premier International Financial District, we embrace this challenge by integrating advanced technologies, leveraging data-driven decision-making, and implementing innovative solutions to minimize our environmental impact. Our commitment to sustainability was further reinforced through our support of national initiatives, where we reaffirmed our 2050 decarbonization goals in alignment with both national and global priorities.

Energy-Efficient Façade
Most buildings within the TRX district are designed with energy efficiency at their core, featuring advanced double-glazed façades with vacuum insulation to minimize external heat transfer. Many also incorporate UV coatings that reduce heat penetration by up to 40%, helping maintain optimal indoor temperatures. This innovative approach significantly reduces reliance on air conditioning, lowering overall energy consumption and supporting sustainable building operations.
Urban Heat Island Mitigation
TRX combats the urban heat island effect through smart, climate-responsive design. Buildings and public spaces use open-grid pavements and high-reflectance materials to reduce surface temperatures. With 23% of the area dedicated to greenery, lush tree canopies, vertical gardens, and landscaped open spaces provide natural cooling, making TRX a cooler, greener, and more sustainable urban destination.
Rainwater Harvesting
Several buildings within TRX go beyond standard requirements by integrating rainwater harvesting systems to further reduce reliance on potable water. In addition to the mandatory use of recycled water, these developments channel both harvested rainwater and recycled water for non-potable uses such as irrigation, toilet flushing, and cooling systems supporting smarter, more sustainable water management.
Comprehensive Building Management System (BMS)
Most buildings in the TRX district are equipped with advanced Building Management Systems (BMS) that monitor and optimize the use of electricity, water, and air conditioning. These smart systems enhance operational efficiency while supporting long-term sustainability goals.

The 10-acre TRX City Park is the first major public realm in the city in more than 20 years. The “park in the mall, and mall in the park” propagates new urban lifestyle for Kuala Lumpur.
Integrated seamlessly into retail and the rest of the precinct, TRX City Park is Kuala Lumpur’s new Green Heart.
The TRX City Park is part of the larger TRX public realm designed with people in mind in terms of space, playscape, and landscape. The TRX public realm consists of pocket gardens and four satellite plazas including Singgah Sana, a sunken plaza in the financial quarter, and the large and open Raintree Plaza that serves as an event space with activities running throughout the year. These experiential spaces built for the public to enjoy are all connected by pedestrian walkway and culminate at the central TRX City Park.
The elevated TRX City Park features 16,785 m2 of landscaped greenery, 1,780 m2 of promenade, three water features, 280 m2 of water area, 590 m2 of play space, 130 m2 of waterplay zone, and four distinct play structures.
TRX City Park is a showcase of Malaysia’s unique biodiverse ecosystem depicted through the diverse planting palette from the lowland forest, the valley till the coastal area, creating a new green ecological corridor for birds, butterflies, and bees.
The park boasts over 180,000 plantings from more than 190 different species of trees, palms, shrubs, and ground covers.
Approximately 95% of the species selected are native and indigenous.
Around 70% of the plant species are of ethnobotanic use.
The park is designed to have both passive and active spaces to support health and wellbeing, from serene water ponds and green walking trails to immersive children’s play areas and versatile event spaces.
The activated rooftop park is set to be the preferred city destination for arts and cultural celebrations and global events.
