Jalan Gading Streetscape Enhancement, as well as Jalan Barat & Jalan Utara Upgrading Work, are key initiatives under the collaboration between TRXC and DBKL to enhance the neighborhood and uplift the surrounding areas. TRX contributed to the design and soft costs for Jalan Gading upgrade to ensure a seamless and aesthetically pleasing integration with the surrounding urban fabric.
These initiatives aim to extend TRX’s visitors reach beyond Bukit Bintang’s tourist hub, and vice versa, expanding the KL’s shopping belt via a conducive, vibrant pedestrian walkway that benefits nearby businesses and fosters a more lively urban environment by connecting these two leading commercial nodes.
TRXC and DBKL team have successfully engaged Jalan Gading stakeholders to incorporate the streetscape enhancements into their developments, ensuring a cohesive and well-integrated design language. Furthermore, nearby shop lot owners and stakeholders have been progressively upgrading their façades, contributing to the overall aesthetic and commercial appeal of the area.
A previously neglected and underdeveloped part of Kuala Lumpur, these upgrades have not only improved connectivity and pedestrian accessibility but have also encouraged greater foot traffic in Jalan Gading, enhancing commercial opportunities for local businesses. Ultimately, these initiatives act as a catalyst for sustainable urban development, fostering a more dynamic and interconnected cityscape.
STREETSCAPE ENHANCEMENT FOR JALAN BARAT AND JALAN UTARA
For Jalan Barat and Jalan Utara, which are adjacent to the TRX boundary, TRXC took the lead in designing and constructing streetscape enhancements. This included upgrading the back lanes to create additional parking spaces for nearby shop lots, improving both accessibility and convenience for businesses and visitors alike.
Pedestrian experience plays a big impact in making TRX a more inclusive and people-focused business district that benefits everyone, thus the enhanced access and more pedestrian-friendly facilities not only help create new pathways but include greener walkways and safer walking lanes. Improvements carried out include beautifying side-walk and back-lanes, landscaping plazas, camouflaging utility works in public areas, and facilitating better traffic flow in and out of the district
