Good Eats @ Imbi pt 3
January 13, 2017

Happy New Year 2017! Let’s look at more food places around Imbi. Restoran Sakura and its famous Nasi Bojari has been around for four decades, while the trendy Wild Honey in Bukit Bintang and the hearty The Yard in Intermark cater to diversifying food-type on offer in the city center

Food place: Restoran Sakura Nasi Lemak @ 163-169 Jalan Imbi

Food type: Asian,

Food order list: Assam laksa (RM13.80), curry laksa (RM13.80), nasi bojari (RM23), nasi lemak (RM15.80), cendol (RM6), cincau white coffee (RM8), roselle juice (RM7.50), calamansi (RM7).

Food note: This 40-year old establishment is one of Imbi’s original landmark, previously owned by the founder of Madam Kwan’s chain. The signature Nasi Lemak with chicken floss and Nasi Bojari with quarter are still among the better ones in the city. As Imbi is getting busier, parking spaces are quite limited nowadays.

Food place: Wild Honey @ 06-645 Pavilion KL, 168 Jalan Bukit Bintang

Food type: Brunch café, international fusion

Food order list: Scones trio with clotted cream, French butter and lemon curd (RM14), Curly Kale salad with poached egg, anchovies, cranberries, sweet potato ribbons, garlic croutons and anchovy lemon dressing (RM32), Breakfast Burger with pastrami, fried egg, zucchini relish and chipotle aioli (RM40), Levant combo - baked eggs with tahini, hot sauce, pepper relish, harissa, labneh, grilled halloumi cheese, vine tomatoes, olives and za'atar bread (RM42), Greek combo - omelette with lamb moussaka, béchamel, parsley, Japanese eggplant, shaved onions and Greek cheese (RM40).

Food note: Singapore’s homegrown brand delights KL with its signature all-day breakfast menu. This fashionable outlet is tastefully curated with designer chairs, lightings and artworks and is always full on weekends. Extensive menu and big portions, so take a few hours to enjoy the brunch.

Food place: The Yard @ Food Hall, Lower Concourse, The Intermark, Jalan Tun Razak

Food type: Pies, milkshakes, smoothies.

Food order list: Chicken mushroom pie (RM8.90), cheesy cauliflower and broccoli pie (RM8.90), cottage pie combo (RM12.90), the Martian shake - dairy chocolate ice cream blended with Mars candy, shunning ice, syrup and sugar (RM15.90), Cookies n’ Cream milkshake (RM10.90 single cup, RM14.90 regular cup).

Food note: Nazri, the owner, whips simple yet delicious pies with fruit and dairy shakes for quick lunches. Sweet and savoury pies are available so you can order your quick lunch and dessert at the same time. The vegetarian option, the broccoli-and-cauliflower pie is enjoyable. Portion size is quite small for KL appetite, so order pie combos with mash and gravy instead of single pies.
